Ways to Support FISH During 2024

Give to FISH and help fish!

FISH has big plans for 2024! You help us continue the important work of educating our young people and our citizens about our iconic Pacific salmon, the importance of clean watersheds, and the vital role our historic Issaquah Salmon Hatchery plays in sustaining our salmon population.

Our 2024 goal for for FISH is to raise $25,000 in donations to help support our programs:

  • School Field Trip Scholarship Fund: More than 30,000 school-aged kids visited the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery to witness the miraculous migration of salmon. FISH provides more than 400 educational tours. Affordable, educational field trips are an essential learning component to engage students. Yet one of the biggest obstacles for schools to take advantage of this hands-on experience is the cost of field trip transportation. For every $1000 raised FISH can provide a free educational tour for 90 kids. To donate: click here.
  • Summer Science Camp Scholarship Fund: STEM summer science camps are a fun and engaging way to learn science in an outdoor classroom. Some families struggle to afford these opportunities. With every $300 raised to the FISH Summer Camp Scholarship Fund, we can enroll child to experience the wonder of nature conservancy and preservation. To donate: click here

  • Maintaining and improving the hatchery’s Native Plant Garden & Wetlands Rain Garden Display to teach visitors about the role of plants in watershed stewardship and salmon conservation. Corporate and organizational groups are welcome: click here to apply

  • Salmon Cycle Aquarium Program: The (FISH) aquarium is a cold water, full salmon life-cycle tank. Installed in 2013, FISH volunteers & a professional cleaning staff maintain the tank. Aquarium costs have soared in recent years & only through kind donations from people like you are we able to continue this program. For every $500 raised, will pay for crucial cleaning and maintenance as well as equipment replacement. click here

  • Immersive Salmon Cycle Kits:  To engage young visitors to the hatchery FISH is producing an immersive life cycle salmon kit to augment science and technology experiences through the remarkable migration of our local salmon. These kits would be used as outreach tools for summer science camp, classroom presentations and other educational learning. The will also be available in the FISH gift shop. click here

We are committed to providing programs that help people explore our watershed and protect and advocate for the environment and salmon. With the help of your membership and tax-deductible contributions, we will continue to do so.
