Science Summer Camps

Camps are open to kids 3-12 years old and include a weeklong introduction to science in the unique outdoor environment of the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery. Campers enjoy outdoor fun learning about the salmon life cycle, sustainability, and watershed stewardship as they conduct water quality, aquatic insect studies and observation logs in Issaquah Creek. This hands-on experience encourages kids to discover the environment around them through nature hikes, arts and crafts creation, educational game play, microscope use, and more!

Little Fry Summer Camp (Ages 3-5)

Make a big splash during FISH’s Little Fry camp for preschoolers!

Little Fry campers find out the answers to “Where do salmon live? And who lives near the salmon?” Campers will also explore the salmon hatchery and Issaquah Creek, create an animal track to take home, become a salmon, act like a bug, and sing the songs of water. This camp will encourage the joy of discovery and cultivate a sense of wonder in the environment and in salmon.

Salmon Science Camp (Ages 6-11)

Campers will have outdoor fun learning all about the salmon life cycle & watershed stewardship as they conduct a water quality and aquatic insect study of Issaquah Creek, perform experiments, hike through nature, create arts and crafts, play educational games, use microscopes, and more!

Salmon Squad (For Youth Groups)
This program is for homeschool groups and youth groups such as YMCA Adventure Guides and Y-Princesses, Campfire USA, Girl and Boy Scouts, and other youth clubs or organizations.
