We welcome the opportunity to share our fascination about salmon with the public.
Spring Guided Hatchery Tours, through May 30 — Tours last 45 minutes, feature multiple spots around hatchery and cost a suggested donation of $10 a person and can be scheduled at least 2 weeks prior to the tour date.
School group tours are ($5 per person) can be schedule 2 weeks before the tour date.
At the beginning of May, DFW hatchery staff will begin releasing almost 3 million Chinook smolt into the Issaquah Creek. Currently, in the viewing windows, the public can stop over and say good luck to the juveniles before they begin their journey to the sea.
Located 15 miles east of Seattle along the I90 corridor, the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery is FREE and open to the general public from dawn until dusk. Situated in the heart of Downtown Issaquah, the 88 year old hatchery is an outdoor education center featuring viewing windows and bridges, salmon and trout raceways, an aquarium, interactive 37 exhibits and displays, a native plant garden and a fish ladder.
Currently over 500,000 juvenile Chinook can be viewed from the windows! Plan your trip!
