Self-Guided Audio Tour
Experience the story of salmon and the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery through our free, self-guided audio tour. As you explore the hatchery grounds, you’ll learn about the salmon life cycle, habitat restoration, hatchery operations, and more. The tour is available year-round and is a great way to learn at your own pace.
Tour Details
- The tour includes 17 audio stops located throughout the hatchery.
- Each stop features a QR code you can scan with your smartphone to listen to a short audio segment.
- The full tour takes about 45 minutes to complete, but you can explore as much or as little as you like.
- No app is required, just a smartphone with internet access.
- Audio is available in English, Spanish, Japanese, and Chinese (Mandarin). Choose your preferred language at the first stop.
Tour Tips
- Start your tour at the first station entitled “Hatchery Building Entrance”.
- Make sure your phone is charged and connected to the internet.
- Headphones or earbuds can improve your listening experience, especially on busy days.
- The tour is outdoors—dress appropriately for the weather.
- You can follow the tour in order or skip around. Explore at your own pace.
Hatchery Information
Admission to the hatchery is free. Anyone is welcome to explore on their own.
Open year-round, every day from dawn to dusk.
Public restrooms, aquarium room and theater room with 8-minute informational film, are open daily from 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.
