FREE Lending Resources for Teachers and Community Members
We aim to support teachers and members of the community in efforts to educate others about salmon and watersheds, and help protect our natural resources.

The Salmon Trunk, produced by Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, is a great resource for teachers, homeschool groups and even afterschool and youth programs. Activities work best for 2nd grade through high school, and include art, math and science topics. When? The trunk can be borrowed anytime of the year.
How long? You may borrow the trunk for up to 2 weeks; extensions may be granted.
How much? It is FREE!
Storm drain Stenciling Kit
Help protect salmon and our water! If you would like a great community service project, borrow our storm drain stenciling kit and go out and make a difference by reminding people that what goes down storm drains goes directly to our streams! This kit is great for scout groups, clubs, church or school groups, and even individuals looking to help their neighborhood and community. Your volunteer group will be provided with the stencil, brooms, reflective vests and paint.
Who? This project works great with 3th graders (with adult supervision, of course!) through adults.
When? The best time to stencil is April through September (or as long as it is not raining!).
How long? You may borrow the kit for up to 2 weeks; extensions may be granted.
Where? Anywhere there is an unstenciled storm drain. Check in with your local city office for permission. Your neighborhood, or church, school or local business parking lots are good places to start.
How much? It is FREE!
Check out the EPA’s website for good advice and guidelines on how to organize a stormdrain stenciling project: http://www.epa.gov/adopt/patch/html/guidelines.html.
